Products Swivel joints

Rotatable with high compressive strength and thermal endurance

STENFLEX® swivel joints are used as rotatable pipe connection pieces and are installed in moving pipeline systems subject to pressure. In the case of harsh operating conditions and high pressures, they are the ideal connection element – whether they are used for liquid or gaseous media with temperatures from –50°C to +260°C.

Combinable and moveable

With STENFLEX® swivel joints, not only can swivelling movements be performed but complete rotations can also be executed at low speed. The swivel joints can be combined and arranged so that the lines can take any route in the respective area. In addition, they are ideal for absorbing torsional movements.

Strengths of STENFLEX® swivel joints:

  • Robust and moveable
  • Enable flexible line systems in the respective area
  • Enable angular and lateral movements
  • Can be used in a variety of applications
  • Ideal for absorbing large movements

Tried-and-tested applications of STENFLEX® swivel joints:

  • On loading and swivel arms
  • In swivel joint shears
  • In hydraulic supply lines
  • On roll stands
  • On aeration tanks in sewage works
  • For filling processes on open terrain
  • In steelworks, rolling mills and smelting works

Three types for perfect pipe routing

STENFLEX® swivel joints are manufactured in three type series: swivel joint, rotating swivel and screwed joint. These different types can be combined as needed depending on the movement in the pipe system and the respective space.

Before stipulating the Swivel Joint type, it is important to decide how the movement is to be effected in the pipeline system. The type is selected essentially depending on the routing of the pipeline, required movement, space available and type of pipeline connections.

A differentiation is made between rotating and swivelling movements when positioning the joints in the pipeline system. The joints can be integrated in the line by means of flanges, welded connections or threaded connections.
