Swivel joints
Flexible pipe connection elements with high compressive strength and thermal endurance
STENFLEX® swivel joints are suitable for pipelines carrying liquid and gaseous media. The ability of the pipe connection elements to withstand extreme temperature and pressure means that they can be used even under the most demanding operating conditions.
STENFLEX® swivel joints are particularly good at absorbing torsion movements. As well as pivoting, complete rotations can be executed at low speed. In such cases the swivel joints can be combined and arranged so that the lines can follow any possible path in space.
The wide and varied possible applications of STENFLEX® swivel joints have been proved in practice:
- On loading and swivel arms
- In swivel joint shears
- In hydraulic supply lines
- On roll stands
- On aeration tanks in sewage works
- For filling processes on open terrain
- In steelworks, rolling mills and smelting works
Swivel joint – Versions
Structure:
The basic unit of all swivel joints comprises an outer section (stator) and an inner section (rotor). Single-track or double-track ball bearings create a positive-fit connection between these two sections.
Type of compensation:
Slow rotary motion (1 fixed point, 1 side moving)
Pivoting (1 fixed point, 1 side moving)
Pivoting on both sides in the angled pipeline section
Pivoting on both sides in the straight pipeline section
